Fairtourist.org is an open portal for sustainable tourism research and development projects.
The overall objective is to develop an innovative online "ecosystem" for sustainable tourism researchers and developers to meet, learn and share their valuable sustainable tourism knowledge, ideas and experience and to encourage collaboration.
The Fairtourist.org - website provides sustainable tourism research and development projects a place to create a free sustainable tourism project website as extranet solutions using free "Wiki" software. Fairtourist.org will guide and help sustainable tourism project organizations with the implementation and use of it by non-profit working model.
All sustainable tourism projects @ Fairtourist.org will be given an open project home page plus a series of project pages as required.
Sustainable Tourism in brief
Sustainable tourism, Responsible tourism, Fair tourism - are well known concepts and Fairtourist.org shall not try to explain or give new meanings for those. Our interest is to encourage and support sustainable tourism initiatives.
The inevitable transition to responsible and sustainable tourism offers the travel and tourism research and development sectors the opportunity to study and develop answers and solutions that respond and act to the global change.
Ecological travel and sustainable tourism are growing trends. Did you know that in Europe 60-80% of tourists are concerned about the environment? More than one-third of online travel buyers are willing to pay more for a green travel product such as a carbon-offset flight. One-quarter of European online travel buyers purchase decisions are influenced by green company policies.
